Blog Hop :: 3 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

by Emily on July 14, 2009

Well, some of you will already know these three things, but maybe a few of you won’t! So here goes:

1. Don’t be fooled by that profile picture of me over there on the left. I have seriously curly hair. I mean, seriously curly. It’s something I both love and hate depending on the humidity level. We’re starting to notice Miles’ hair curling when it’s damp now, and I think it’s so cute!

2. After 20-some-odd hours of labor with my son, it was decided that I would need a c-section. This was after my epidural stopped working. Did you know that they will sometimes do surgery even though your anesthesia isn’t working properly? It’s true. Oh, and no, they didn’t use a vacuum on his head. Why do you ask?

P.S. His head went back to normal after a few days… not to worry.

3. I have a dog that outweighs me. It’s true that I’m on the petite side, but she is a mammoth. Her name is Macey, and she’s a Great Dane. Example of her hugeness (and goofiness) below.

I would have never dreamed that you had curly hair. Logan got his curls cut off but they are coming back again.

Isn't it amazing that those molded newborn heads go back to round so quickly!! As a nurse midwife I said that so many times to disbelieving new mammas………..but its true.
Your blog is so fun!!

I like your blog. Oh yes, my epidural stopped working during my c-section with my first son! A lot of hollering was done by me! They thought I was just 'faking it' like one nurse said!

That's just not right. . . I had a section and if my epi had worn off, they would have had to hit me over the head or something.

I had to have a c-section with my son and his head looked the same way but it went a way within a few hours.

I know just how it is to have extremely curly hair on high humidity day – oy! I can not imagine 20 hours of labor follow by major surgery. Gorgeous photos of your little guy.

My son had a conehead from the vacuum, lol…also a very long labor! Loved seeing your dog. Our Dane is 160+ lbs, so she outweighs me by over 30 lbs…and likes to sit on my lap!
Love your curls!

Emily
I have seriously curly hair too!
And like you I love it and hate it! It is so much work either way- if you keep it curly or straighten it. You can't win.

I love Great Dane's we have had to in our family. Currently Nala lives with my mother in law and she thinks she is a small dogs size at mammoth size!
